Nutrition Australia is a non-government, non-profit, community-based organisation that operates in all States and Territories in Australia with the assistance of professionals who are specialists in the fields of food, nutrition, health promotion and business. Each Division provides a range of services that are specific to the needs of their State or Territory. These services include:

Program Manager – Western Australia

HEAS Nutrition Policy Advisor – Victoria

Nutrition Australia Vic is looking for a nutrition qualified health promotion focussed professional to be a part of the Healthy Eating Advisory Service team.

This role will work a high performing and collaborative team to support implementation of the Healthy Choices guidelines to sport and recreation facilities, and other workplaces. It will also support implementation of the Vic Kids Eat Well (VKEW) initiative, a collaboration with Cancer Council Victoria.

Consultant Nutritionist/Dietitian

Nutrition Australia’s Nutrition Programs and Services Team are seeking experienced, casual consultants to help deliver QIC-GRE shopping centre activations in NSW, QLD and VIC in September and October.

Project Background

Nutrition Australia and YMCA have partnered to co-design a new program to increase community participation in healthy eating and physical activity to be delivered in QIC-GRE assets across VIC, NSW and QLD. Seven shopping centres and an office building have been selected as the pilot sites for the program in 2022. In-centre activations include a pop-up nutrition and physical activity wellness hub. The wellness hub will form the centrepiece of the building healthier communities’ program. Operating over 1-2 days in each asset, the healthy hub will offer free health and wellbeing activities, healthy samplers and useful take-home resources. Community members can visit the hub to chat with our qualified nutritionists and personal trainers, connect with our virtual Y platform, try a free smoothie taster from our people-powered smoothie bike or sign up for cooking demonstrations, yoga classes, mindfulness classes and shopping tours.  

About the role:

We are seeking casual, experienced Dietitians/Nutritionists to help deliver our wellness hubs, cooking demonstrations and shopping tours in NSW, QLD and VIC.  

Skills/Experience required:

  • Knowledge/experience in nutrition/ public health nutrition/ health promotion.
  • Tertiary qualifications and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in public health nutrition/nutrition and dietetics/health promotion.
  • Eligible for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) and/or Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or Registered Public Health Nutritionist (RPHNutr) status.
  • Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Project management skills, including demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with building and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders

Interstate travel, with some overnight stays will be required. Flights, accommodation and expenses will be provided as per Nutrition Australia’s policies and procedures. Full training for event delivery will be provided. Flights for interstate deliveries will be for the day prior to delivery for site induction.

The program will be rolled out in QIC-GRE assets across the next two years, with potential for ongoing delivery.

NAVic Board Treasurer – Victoria

Nutrition Australia Vic Division (NAVic) is seeking an experienced Treasurer to join the NAVic board and finance, audit and risk committee. You must have post-graduate qualifications in finance, business administration, business management or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years board/committee of management experience for not for profits and/or corporate sector.

As a NAVic board member, you will advise the board on financial strategy and oversee the financial function of the organisation, review procedures, risk and financial reporting. You will chair the finance, audit and risk committee and report to the board at the meetings. As a board member, you will also receive a nominal quarterly payment.

Board Member Nutrition Specialist, Nutrition Australia Vic Division Board – Victoria

Nutrition Australia Vic Division (NAVic) is seeking an experienced Nutrition Specialist to join the NAVic board. You must have post-graduate qualifications in Nutrition/Dietetics, or equivalent minimum 15 years’ experience in the role as a specialist. Board experience is highly valued.

As a NAVic board member, you will be part of supporting the CEO with strategic guidance to assist with planning activities relevant to the Victorian Division of Nutrition Australia. As a board member, you will also receive a nominal quarterly payment.

ACT Division

Treasurer

Volunteer

Nutrition Australia ACT is seeking a volunteer Treasurer with accounting qualifications and experience working in the field.

The role of the Treasurer is to oversee the financial administration of the organisation, review procedures and financial reporting and advise the CoM on financial strategy. The Treasurer will attend all CoM meetings, held monthly either online or in the NAACT offices.

Membership of Nutrition Australia is essential to become a voting member on the CoM.
